Injection mold polishing has two purposes; One is to increase the smoothness of the mold to make the surface of the products produced by the mold smooth, beautiful and beautiful. The other is to make the mold easy to demould, so that the plastic can not be stuck on the mold and can not be removed.
Precautions for polishing injection mold are as follows:
(1) When processing a new mold cavity, the surface of the workpiece should be checked first, and the surface should be cleaned with kerosene, so that the oilstone surface will not be stuck with dirt, resulting in loss of cutting function.
(2) The coarse grain shall be grinded first in the order of difficulty and then ease. Especially for some difficult dead corners, the deeper bottom shall be grinded first,
(3) Some workpieces may have multiple pieces assembled and polished together. The coarse or spark lines of a single workpiece shall be polished separately, and then all workpieces shall be assembled and polished until smooth.
(4) For workpieces with large plane or side plane, use oilstone to grind the rough lines, and then use a flat steel sheet for light transmission inspection to check whether there is any uneven or undercut. If there is undercut, it will cause difficulty in demoulding the workpieces or pull the workpieces.
(5) In order to avoid paying attention to the situation that the mold workpiece has developed a undercut or has some fitting surfaces that need to be protected, the saw blade can be used to paste or the abrasive paper can be used to paste on the edge, so as to obtain an ideal protection effect.
(6) Pull back and forth to grind the mold plane, and pull the handle of the oilstone as flat as possible, not exceeding 25 °; Due to the large slope, the force will be driven from top to bottom, which will easily lead to many coarse lines on the workpiece.
(7) If the surface of the workpiece is polished with copper or bamboo pieces pressed with abrasive paper, the abrasive paper should not be larger than the area of the tool, otherwise it will grind to the place that should not be polished.
(8) The shape of the grinding tool should be close to the same as the surface shape of the mold, so as to ensure that the workpiece is not deformed by grinding.
If the above points are well done, the polished appearance of the injection mold will be very beautiful.
