Silica gel has good fluidity, so the silica gel mold does not need to use a boiling water port, and the price is cheaper than the plastic mold.
Plastic mold is the abbreviation of a combined mold used for compression, extrusion, injection molding, blow molding, and low foaming molding, so it is also called plastic mold or injection mold. It can process plastic parts of different shapes. Previously, domestic factories were called plastic factories, while Hong Kong and Taiwan regions called plastic factories plastic companies. Plastic is a thermoplastic material, generally using injection molding molds. Plastic mold has the title of "the mother of industry", and now many new products will involve plastic.
Structural differences:
The material of silica gel mold is mold silica gel, and the general structure is composed of five components: base gum, cross-linking agent, catalyst, filler and additive. In fact, the base gum, cross-linking agent and filler are one component, and the catalyst is taken as one component separately, which is why mold silica gel is the origin of two-component room temperature silica gel.
The structure of the plastic mold mainly includes a female mold with a variable cavity, which is composed of a female mold combination substrate, a female mold component and a female mold combination card board, and a male mold with a variable core, which is composed of a male mold combination substrate, a male mold component, a male mold combination card board, a cavity cutting component and a side section combination board. In order to improve the performance of plastics, various auxiliary materials such as fillers, plasticizers, lubricants, stabilizers, colorants, etc. should be added to the polymer.
Differences in use:
Silica gel raw materials can be divided into solid silica gel and liquid silica gel according to their physical properties. Solid silica gel is mainly used for molded products. For example, silicone covers, silicone tableware, silicone molds, silicone buttons, etc. Liquid silicone is mainly used for extrusion products, such as silicone pacifiers, silicone tubes, etc.
